Welcome and thank you for visiting the website for Around the World in a Day. We are delighted to have you on the team!
For eight years Around the World in a Day (AWD) has enabled us to support young people in communities all over Europe.
This year, AWD took place on
12th – 18th June 2016.
We invited venues across Europe to take part in this unique campaign, raise funds, and be part of a movement to transform young lives.
Corporate partners, schools and individuals all took part and make a difference in their local communities by collecting kilometres and raising funds. Together, we aimed to collect enough kilometres to travel the circumference of the Earth – 40,075km!
We wanted a network of people all over Europe to hold activities which would allow them to count up distances and raise funds to support the health and education of young people. All the funds raised to the Foundation’s grant fund and our campaign partners, including Evelina London Children’s Hospital and other children’s charities local to you.
This year AWD events took place from Dublin to Budapest. Previous events have included treasure hunts, fancy dress walks, nature walks, fun runs, and keeping a piece of gym equipment in motion for 24 hours. What ideas can you and your friends come up with for next year?
For the first time ever, we are also held our own event in Mile End Park, London on Sunday 19th June. It was a fantastic day of family fun!
We are very proud of how far Around the World in a Day has reached, and we want your help to continue building the campaign. Join us as we make a difference in our local communities and help us make it Around the World in a Day!
Thank you to our generous event sponsors of 2016
