On Friday 9th October the Hilton Dublin Hotel hosted the annual Hilton Ireland charity Foundation ball. This year it was held in partnership with the Foundation and with the hotel’s local nominated charity; Solas Project. The Dublin-based charity has a vision for an Ireland where all young people can take full advantage of their potential, with the charity supporting them to participate fully in society. They arrange after school activities for children especially in deprived areas.
After 10 months of planning HR Director Yvonne Brady and her team joined forces with Solas Project and the Foundation to put on an amazing night that started with a Champagne reception for 220 guests upon arrival. Following the Champagne reception, guests sat down to enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by the Hilton team of executive chefs before taking to the dance floor to dance the night away to the great sounds of Johnny be Goode band. Many Hilton team members volunteered to work on the night unpaid to further support the charity event.
In an unprecedented move, Hilton Hotel Ireland announced that the charity partnership would be extended for a second year, with Solas Project announced as the hotel group’s local charity partner via the Foundation for 2016. General Manager Paul Flavin was also delighted to showcase his newly refurbished hotel while hosting the event.
Solas Project’s Clodagh O’Reilly and Graham Jones hosted the evening, opening with a heartfelt speech about the work of their organisation. Director of the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People, Simon Sheehan, was delighted to be able to attend to represent the Foundation.
Over €18,000 was generated on the night through ticket sales, raffle and an exciting online auction hosted by Galabid. It was such a successful night that plans are already under way for the 2016 ball.
