Hilton on Park Lane
In support of Galvin’s Chance, London Hilton on Park Lane welcome runners from the worlds of hospitality, sport, business and the general public to the Power Tower Race, to held on Friday 5th June 2015.
The Mayfair Power & Tower Race incorporates a 4.5 km sprint in Hyde Park with intervals of British Military Fitness training; this is followed by a gruelling tower run up the 475 stairs of London Hilton on Park Lane to Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows restaurant on the 28th floor. After rising to the challenge, the runners have the chance to recover and re-hydrate with a champagne breakfast in the restaurant at the top of the 331 foot tall hotel.
Individual runners start at the bandstand in Hyde Park, you will run the 4.5 kilometres around Hyde Park and through the underpass on Park Lane and entering into the reception of the iconic London Hilton on Park Lane. There, guests and on-lookers will cheer you on before you scale the dizzying 28 floors and 475 steps to the finish at the top.
This year the Team challenge is back. You have the opportunity to sign up a team of 4 members and take on the race together! As a team you have to take part in the race whilst completing challenges set out by the British Military Fitness Training (BMFT) team. BMFT instructors have military backgrounds and have set up a fitness program, and this year we are once again including some of their challenges as part of the race for those of you who don’t find the tower challenging enough.
