In May 2013, a group of Hilton Worldwide executives and their friends cycled from London to Paris to raise funds for the Foundation and our charity partners. The intrepid bunch raised over £35,000 to help create brighter futures for young people, but they didn’t stop there!
The London-Paris cyclists have re-grouped, invited their friends, and will soon continue their epic cycle through Europe’s capitals – this time continuing the original journey from Paris and on through the mountains to Geneva. A gruelling 358 miles through mountainous terrain, this four-day journey will encompass some of the toughest parts of the Tour de France route and represents a huge challenge for our dedicated cyclists, who are coming from as far away as Dubai and South Africa to take on the challenge.
They are undertaking this huge challenge not just for love of cycling, but in order to make a difference for disadvantaged young people in our communities. Funds raised from the event will support DM Thomas Foundation for Young People’s central Grant Fund, enabling us to transform the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people by improving their access to health and education. . The team have a fundraising target of £2,500 each, adding up to a collective target of £52,500, and they are working hard to reach this goal.
Also benefitting from the ride are Great Ormond Street Hospital, National Autism Society, World Bike Relief, National Brain Tumour Association, Montessori and Gift of Life.
We are very grateful to our amazing supporters for their tireless work to support the Foundation and the young people we work with. As the training miles rack up, we wish them all the very best!
