On Friday 16 October 2015 over 100 people attended the first ever ‘Hoedown at the Hilton Swindon’ helping raise funds for Amber Foundation for their personal development work with young people, and DM Thomas Foundation for Young People. The event was attended by Louise James from the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People and Alison Williams from the Amber Foundation.
Fantastic live music for the night was provided by Tumblin’ Dice, a Country and western Duo, which perfectly complimented the line dancing sessions throughout the evening, held by line dancing team the Midnight Cowboys. There was plenty of denim and checked shirts around and a couple of guests went all out, dressing in vintage costume from the American War of Independence.
A delicious American themed buffet which included chilli, ribs, corn on the cob and key lime pie was provided by the kitchen, and was thoroughly enjoyed by the guests. Dancing was the order of the day, and from the time the line dancing kicked off the evening there was never a moment when the dance floor was empty.
Attendees said how much fun they were having throughout the evening, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the music and entertainment. Everyone had a fantastic time, whilst raising much-needed funds for two deserving charities.
