Celebrity dancers and judges announced
Hilton Brighton Metropole’s Mid Summer Ball returns this year on Saturday 20 June, in aid of DM Thomas Foundation for Young People and Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.
The 2015 Mid Summer Ball famed for its ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ theme sees the return of local TV and radio star, Zoe Ball, as Head Judge. Along with her panel, she will help score those brave enough to take part in the dance competition in front of nearly 500 guests.
Four celebrities and local personalities will be attempting The Charleston 1920’s inspired dance at the Great Gatsby themed charity Ball with their expert partners. Announced at the launch party on Thursday 12 February, this year’s dancers are Eleanor Harris, Chief Executive of the Brighton i360 tower, Barry Carden, Managing Director of Cardens Accountants in Hove and Heart Sussex Breakfast Show co-hosts Nicola Hume and Tom Evans.
The annual event will be raising money for the Foundation – which helps young people transform their lives in Brighton, across the UK and Europe, and Rockinghorse Children’s Charity who are the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton.
The launch night also welcomed the General Manager of the Hilton Brighton Metropole, Sascha Koehler, to the city. He said, “I am excited to be part of this great city and to be involved in this fantastic event! Working together with Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and the Foundation is an exciting project and we look forward to hosting the Mid Summer Ball at the Hilton Brighton Metropole on June 20th.”
Simon Sheehan, Director of the Foundation, added, “We are delighted to be partnering with Rockinghorse Children’s Charity again, and together we will be transforming lives. Thanks to our intrepid dancers and generous sponsors, the Mid Summer Ball will be a spectacular evening of 1920’s frivolity whilst supporting the work of two charities who help the young people of Sussex.”
Ryan Heal, Chief Executive of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, said, “We are delighted to have been chosen as the local beneficiary charity of the Hilton Brighton Metropole’s Mid Summer Ball for the third year and we look forward to working closely with new General Manager Sascha Koehler and his team. We’d like to extend our thanks to Skerritts who are our headline sponsors again this year, as well as all of our event and media partners that make the Ball possible. Special thanks to our dancers Barry Carden, Eleanor Harris, Nicola Hume and Tom Evans who will be taking part in the 1920’s themed dance competition and helping to raise money for children who need our support.”
Hosted by the team at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, guests will enjoy a sparkling drinks reception, four-course dinner with wine plus the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ style dance competition and entertainment courtesy of the E3 Group. Guests will also have the opportunity to take part in various fundraising activities on the night, including a charity auction as well as enjoying the infamous indoor dodgems.
